Clinton County Offices Ready for Move

Intermittent Office Closures Will be Necessary to Complete Transition to New Annex Building

(FRANKFORT, OCTOBER 15, 2025) – After years of planning, design, and construction, Clinton County government offices will begin relocating from the historic Courthouse to the new County Annex Building on Monday, October 20. The entire process could take up to two weeks to complete. Located at the corner of Main and Washington Streets, the three-story, 41,925-square-foot Annex Building was built on the site of the former Regions Bank, whose complex demolition began in early 2023. The new facility is designed to better serve the public with improved accessibility, centralized services, and modern infrastructure.

Office Layout in the New Annex Building:
  • First Floor: Surveyor, Area Plan Commission, Veterans’ Service Officer, County Commissioner and Council Offices and Meeting Rooms
  • Second Floor: Auditor, Treasurer, Recorder, Assessor, and temporary space for Victims Assistance
  • Third Floor: Temporary space for Courtrooms, Jury Rooms, Clerk and Prosecutor
  • Basement: County Archives

During the relocation period, several County offices will be closed for short periods. Departments will announce their individual closure dates in advance. The County urges residents to stay informed through official channels including the County website and social media pages.

“This move is an important milestone for Clinton County,” says Jordan Brewer, President of the Clinton County Commissioners. “We know a move of this size can be disruptive, and we appreciate the public’s patience. We’ve taken great care to plan this transition the best we could to minimize impact.”

Once renovation of the historic Courthouse is complete, the Courts, Clerk, and Prosecutor will move back to the historic building, while all other County offices will remain in the Annex.
